Hello Friends! Happy New Year!
I'm sure I'm not the first one to tell you how important breakfast is, but a reminder is always good! It's so easy to eat a ton of calories, sugar, and loads of carbs before your day even begins.
With these healthy smoothie recipes, you can make your first meal of the day one that is packed with nutritious foods! I tend to gravitate towards recipes like this after the holidays because I feel like I need to give my body something to make up for all of the sweets and carbs I ate during the winter.
What I love about smoothies is not only are they filled with fresh fruit and vegetables (sometimes), but they are also a quick choice for breakfast or an afternoon pick me up. Chilled and refreshing, these are what I crave just to get me through the day!

You can also choose to add seeds or protein to these to make them more of a meal. Many of these are also Weight Watcher friendly.
I picked some wonderful smoothie recipes that would be perfect for breakfast. Looking at the pictures of all of these drinks, makes me want to pick up some fruit today. Mmm, I could do a different smoothie each day.
My favorite fresh fruit smoothie recipes are:
Sunshine Orange Banana Smoothie - A perfect way to start the day!
- Mango Greens Smoothie – made with spinach and kale, this is my favorite green smoothie.
- Strawberry Blueberry Peanut Butter Smoothie – perfect with fresh berries from the farmers market or grocery store.
- Berry Cherry Smoothie – this smoothie is made with plain yogurt for added dairy.
- Chocolate Smoothie Bowl - For the chocolate lover!

I have been asked what is the best blender for smoothies, and in my opinion, the Blendtec blender I have had for years and it is truly awesome! It is easy to use and easy to clean and wears well with ice.
One thing I love about smoothies is that they're something you can prep ahead. Throw the fruits you need for a single drink into a plastic bag and freeze.
By prepping ahead, all you have to do is take out one of the bags, let it thaw a little, toss it into the blender with almond milk or coconut water, and you're all set. Look at that - smoothies are saving us both time and calories!

This list is so thorough! I only got into smoothies within the last year. They really are a brilliant idea, and if left to my own devices, I will load up on fat and sugar in the morning.
