Mango Greens Smoothie

This Mango Greens Smoothie is my breakfast of choice most weekday mornings. Filled with fresh tropical fruit and vegetables, it is really tasty, filling and good for you! I just love making it with the fresh mango that is in season right now. It is filled with vitamins too!

This green mango smoothie has a beautiful bright green color and it is super quick to make. It is a delicious way to enjoy breakfast or a post-workout snack.

Mango Kale Smoothie Recipe Ingredients

  • fresh kale leaves
  • fresh spinach (I use baby spinach)
  • apple juice
  • fresh mango

Substitutions and Variations

Seriously this easy, simple recipe idea is not only a quick breakfast option – it is also a good way to sneak some green vegetables into your family’s diet.

You can change up the apple juice with mango juice, orange juice, pineapple juice or cucumber juice.

You can add fresh bananas, unsweetened almond milk or plain Greek yogurt if you want a creamier smoothie. You can also use frozen mango if you cannot find fresh.

The greens can be changed up too. Chard, celery or carrot greens can be added or substituted.

Cut up the mango pieces the evening before and keep in the refrigerator for use in this recipe and others.

Prewash the spinach and kale so it is ready to go. Have single served portions stored individually in the refrigerator at the beginning of the week to save valuable preparation time. 

Store the ingredients in an airtight container in the refrigerator the night before and just dump them into your blender with ice.

Mango, spinach and kale make this smoothie healthy and tasty!

With a little advanced preparation of the fruit, you can whip this up in about 2 minutes.  It is creamy and refreshing and tastes like a milkshake and it costs only pennies to make!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup cut mango chunks
  • 1 handful spinach about 3/4 cup
  • 1 handful kale about 3/4 cup
  • 1/2 cup apple juice

Instructions
 

  • Wash the greens and remove the hard stems.
  • Place ice in the blender.
  • Add all ingredients and blend until a creamy texture is achieved.

  1. Well there you go! I would like the mango taste – helping with the greens taste. Not that I don’t love kale, but it goes so well with other flavors if you’re going to drink it.
