Bacon Broccoli Quiche recipe Ingredients
- large eggs
- Cheddar cheese
- onions - white or yellow
- broccoli florets - use fresh broccoli and not frozen for best results
- cooked bacon - use crispy bacon strips
- pie crust - I use a pre-made crust but you can use a homemade pie crust or refrigerated pie crust.
- butter
- salt and black pepper

How to Make this Broccoli Bacon Quiche Recipe
Step 1 - In a large bowl, add eggs and whip until fluffy using an egg whisk or similar.
Step 2 - Add spices and seasonings and milk to egg mixture and blend well.
Step 3 - Cook broccoli in microwave or stove top. Drain and chop broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
Step 4 - Pre-bake pie crust as directed. To the pie crust, add onions and chopped broccoli.

Step 5 - Add bacon pieces.
Step 6 - Add shredded cheese.
Step 7 - Pour egg mixture into pie crust.
Step 8 - Dot top of pie crust with butter pieces.
Bake as directed and quiche is set. Pie crust edges should be golden brown.
Let cool a few minutes before cutting.
Substitutions & Variations
The quiche filling can easily be modified.
- Bacon - instead of pork bacon, you can use turkey bacon as good option.
- heavy cream- use this or half and half in place of the whole ilk.
- Cheese - You can add a little bit of parmesan cheese or Gouda cheese. or a combination of either with Cheddar cheese.
Timesaving Tips and Helpful Hints
- Place quiche pie pan on a baking sheet before putting in oven to collect any spillovers
- Bake until top of the quiche is set.
- If you want to use a homemade crust you can.
- You can use aluminum foil to cover the crust edges during the last 15 minutes of baking. This prevents the crust from becoming overdone.
- To store, wrap quiche in plastic wrap or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Quiche is a great make-ahead dish. Once it has cooled, store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage. Reheat in the oven or microwave for a delicious and easy meal.

Equipment

Ingredients
- 1 pie crust
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- ¾ cup broccoli florets
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 6 strips of bacon cooked and chopped
Instructions
- Prepare broccoli. You want tender broccoli.
- If using a Frozen Pie shell you will need to thaw 10 minutes. If using a pre-made pie crust add it to a pie dish.
- Poke holes in crust with fork. Place pie crust on a baking sheet.Pre-bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees f.
- Prepare bacon in a large skillet or in the microwave and drain.
- In a large bowl mix eggs, milk, and nutmeg in a bowl.
- Add the bacon, chopped broccoli and cheese to the crust.Pour egg mixture into crust.
- Place quiche on a cookie sheet and cook 20 – 30 minutes in 350°oven until top is golden and puffed.
- Let cool a few minutes before cutting.
