This easy Cheeseburger Pasta recipe is the perfect easy meal idea when you need to whip up dinner fast and easily.
Made with a few simple ingredients, this easy one pot pasta dish is one of those quick meals that are perfect for busy weeknights. I make this recipe nearly once a month because it is that good and that easy.

The great thing is that you can serve it with whatever you love in your favorite burger, so the varieties are endless.

- short pasta, any shape – (I used mini penne but you could use cavatappi pasta or elbow macaroni
- ground beef – I use an 80/20 lean ground beef mixture.
- onion
- garlic
- diced tomatoes
- beef broth
- Cheddar cheese
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Tomatoes, Pickles, Lettuce (optional)

How to Make easy one-pot cheeseburger pasta
Step 1 – Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the onion over medium-high heat, and drain excess fat.

Step 2 – Add the garlic to the skillet and
Stir in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, ketchup, and mustard.

Step 3 – Simmer the mixture for 10-15 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly. (can omit)
Add the cooked pasta to the meat mixture and toss to coat it evenly with the sauce.

Step 4 – Stir in 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese and add tomatoes.

Step 5 – Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top of the pasta and cover the skillet until the cheese is melted.

Serve and enjoy the cheeseburger flavor!

Substitutions & Variations
- Chicken or Turkey – instead of ground beef, you can use ground chicken or ground turkey. You could also add some cooked bacon pieces or chopped vegetables.
- Spicy – Add a 1/2 teaspoon of hot sauce or salsa to add a little kick to your pasta.
- Noodles – you can sub any small pasta for the noodles.
- Flavor Boost – Add a 1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce or steak seasoning to the beef hamburger for a boost in beef flavor.

Timesaving Tips for the Best Cheeseburger Pasta
- Cook the pasta ahead of time and store in the refrigerator.
- Cook the pasta al dente and be careful not to overcook. You can boil extra pasta and save it for another dish.
- Make a double batch and freeze it for later. Cheeseburger pasta is a great dish to make ahead of time. Once assembled, you can freeze it for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before baking.
- Store leftover cheeseburger pasta in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Warm leftovers in the microwave for about 60 – 90 seconds per serving.
Serving and Storage Suggestions
Serve with a simple side salad or a Caprese Salad. This also goes great with some Baguette Garlic Bread or Homemade Cornbread.

- 1 onion diced
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 (15 ounce can diced tomatoes
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese divided
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup mustard
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Chopped lettuce for garnish (optional)
- Quartered cherry tomatoes for garnish (optional)
- Chopped pickles for garnish (optional)
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the onion over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the beef and cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, ketchup, and mustard. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Simmer the mixture for 10-15 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat it evenly with the sauce.
