Serving Suggestions
Serve with corn or flour tortillas or use taco shells.
Add a few of your favorite taco toppings. Some of my favorites toppings are Pico de Gallo, Restaurant Style salsa, sour cream, cheese, lettuce and fresh tomatoes.
For side dishes, add some Mexican rice or a green salad.
Storage
Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Tips to Make the Best Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos
- For best results, check the chicken for doneness after 5 hours so that you are careful not to overcook the meat. Cook time can vary depending on the side of the chicken breasts.
- Use slow cooker liners to save on clean up time. They are so helpful.
- If you're short on time, you can cook your crock pot tacos on high for a 3-4 hours. However, keep in mind that the meat may not be as tender as when cooked on low.
- While the filling simmers, you can focus on preparing fresh toppings like chopped lettuce, pico de gallo, shredded cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and your favorites.
- Make a double batch and use the second batch to make burritos, or nachos.

3 Ingredient Crock Pot Chicken Tacos
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups salsa
- 1 package of taco seasoning
Instructions
- Add the chicken breasts to your crockpot.
- Sprinkle over taco seasoning.
- Pour salsa over top.
- Cook on low 6-8 hours, or high 3-4 hours.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken and return it to the crock pot.
- Stir well to combine.
