Today I am sharing an easy cookie recipe. These cookies are the soft and moist and are great during the holiday season. They are one of my daughter’s favorite cookies ever. These cookies are great for making gingerbread men and are known as molasses crinkles, as well. I am using them two ways, this is the first. I used the other half of the dough for another recipe which I will post later this week. These go great with a cold glass of milk.
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 1/4 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoons of salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix shortening, sugar, egg and molasses. Sitr in remaining ingredients. Roll dough into balls about the size of a quarter in diamater. Dip balls in water, then roll in sugar.
Bake 10-12 minutes. Let cookies cool. Drizzle with buttercream frosting.
What is your family’s favorite cookie?
