These easy pumpkin twists are a great way to welcome fall and are perfect for a dessert or lunch box treat.
I went for a walk after work yesterday and for the first time, the weather felt cool and crisp, like actual fall! I was so excited that the season finally is catching up to us. I had to cut my walk short because the evenings are getting shorter. Boo! That is the part I do not like as much.
To celebrate, I made these really easy treats.
I made these little twists by twisting the dough
They come out of the oven with warm pumpkin goodness.
Then you drizzle them with just a little icing,
And they will be gone very quickly, so make sure you make enough.
These pumpkin twists are incredibly easy to make and they taste great. Light and fluffy, perfect for a light dessert or a treat with your coffee or tea.
Really Easy Pumpkin Twists
2 cups baking mix (Bisquick)
1/3 cup cooked pumpkin (I used canned)
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat oven to 400°. In a bowl mix all ingredients until well blended.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough with a rolling pin. Roll out to about 1/2 inch thick and cut with round cookie cutter.
Before placing each cutout on an ungreased cookie sheet, twist each circle once.
Bake 10-12 minutes until lightly brown.
Let cool and drizzle icing (recipe below) on top.
Makes 10 – 12 depending on cookie cutter size.
Powdered Sugar Icing
1/3 powdered sugar
1 teaspoon milk
Mix both in a small bowl until completely blended.
