Hello Friends! How is your week going? We are enjoying the cool weather of the season and enjoying watching our sports. There is nothing like getting together with family and friends around the television to enjoy a good game or movie.
Today’s recipe is an easy one when you are looking for a tasty cookie. I love simple recipes like this one because I can use ingredients I already have on hand and the amount of clean up is minimal. I also love the way all the flavors come together in a cheesy snack in just minutes too.

Today’s recipe is wonderful for a snack idea or as a nice gift for neighbors and coworkers.

One of the best things about this recipe is that it just takes a few ingredients that y9ou likely have in your pantry.

Oatmeal – You can use either instant or old-fashioned oats for this recipe.
Flour – I love to use all-purpose flour for these cookies.
Chocolate Chips – I love to use milk chocolate chips for this recipe, but you can use semi-sweet chocolate chips or white chocolate chips.
How to make Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
The full recipe is below, but the basic steps are listed:
- Cream butter and sugar
- Add egg.
- Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Add vanilla to the egg.

5. Add dry ingredients to the sugar mixture.

7. Gradually add oats.
8. Blend well and add chocolate chips.

- You can use parchment paper on the cookie sheets to save on clean up time. The sheets will clean easily if you do this.
- Make the dry ingredients ahead of time and it will be ready to add when you are.
- You can store the dry ingredients in a mason jar. This also makes a great gift idea if you stack the ingredients and wrap the jar with a bow. Just give then the recipe so that the recipient knows what to add.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup brown sugar packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups cooking oats
- 1 cup flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ⅔ cup milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- 1. In a large bowl, cream butter, sugars eggs, and vanilla until well blended.
2. In another bowl, combine flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon.
3. Slowly add dry ingredients to butter mixture.
4. Fold in oats. - 5. Fold in chocolate chips
- 6. Drop by rounded teaspoons about 2" apart on a greased cookie sheet.
- 7. Bake 12 - 13 minutes in 375° oven until light brown
