Ingredients
- Active Dry Yeast. also known as instant yeast
- Warm Milk. 105-110º F
- Granulated Sugar.
- Unsalted butter. Room temperature. Set it out for at least an hour before making the rolls.
- Egg. One large egg at room temperature.
- Kosher Salt.
How to Make Step-By-Step Instructions
- In a small bowl, add milk and sugar, sprinkle yeast over.
- Let the yeast mixture set in a warm place until foamy, about 5 minutes.
- Add mixture to a large mixing bowl, add ¼ cup butter, egg, salt, and 2 cups flour.
- Beat on medium speed until the batter is smooth.
- Gradually add flour until a soft ball of dough forms.
- Increase speed on mixer to medium-high and beat for 2-3 minutes longer. Lightly grease large bowl and place dough in ball, turning once to coat. Cover with a clean dish towel and set in a warm place to let the dough rise until doubled in size, 45-60 minutes.
At step number six, the dough should be tacky, but not sticky. If it is too sticky, add more flour 1 tablespoon at a time.
Are you looking for the perfect place to let your rolls rise? Check to see if your oven has a "proof" setting. That setting is designed to help bread rise without killing the yeast. If you are cooking in the kitchen a bunch, simply setting the tray of rolls near the cooktop will be sufficient. You can also place the tray of rolls (covered) on a chair, near a heating vent.
Make homemade cinnamon butter if you crave that topping on your Texas Roadhouse rolls.

Recipe FAQs
What is the best way to warm milk?
I recommend microwaving your milk for ten seconds at a time. After each ten-second interval, stir the milk to remove pockets of heat and check the milk temperature.
Can I use parchment paper on my baking sheet?
Bread dough tends to be just a little bit too sticky for parchment paper. For best results, spray your pan with cooking spray.
What do I do if my yeast doesn't get foamy?

I've heard of this, and I've heard of the butter. Cinnamon honey butter or something? The rolls look heavenly!
