This fun recipe idea makes a wonderful, rich hot chocolate whenever you want it. Great for older kids to make their own cocoa too! Fun for a hot chocolate board day!

All you need are a few ingredients to make your own hot chocolate mix. This recipe is not only great to make hot chocolate, you can also use it for cookies and brownies too!
List of main ingredients:
Cocoa Powder –The star of the show and you will want to use unsweetened cocoa powder for best results.
Sugar – I use white sugar for this recipe.
Variations on this recipe.
You can add any of these.
- ½ cup chocolate chips, white, milk or semi-sweet
- Mini marshmallows
- Peppermint extract
How to make Hot Cocoa Mix
First you sift the powdered sugar and dry milk.
Then sift the cocoa powder.
Blend together and place in a mason jar or other sealed container.
To make hot cocoa, add ⅓ cup of mix in a mug, stir in 1 cup warm milk, add toppings of your choice

Hot Chocolate Mix Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 cups instant dry milk
- 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, sift powdered sugar
2. Sift instant dry milk on top of powdered sugar
3. Sift cocoa powder on top
4. Whisk together and add granulated sugar until well combined.
5. Store in airtight container or jar for up to 3 months.
To make hot cocoa, add ⅓ cup of mix in a mug, stir in 1 cup warm milk, add toppings of your choice
- Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 3 months.
- Stir it into coffee for a fun mocha drink.
