Ingredients for Apple Pie Egg Rolls

- Granny Smith Apples. You can use other apples as well, just make sure you pick an apple suited for baking. Use fresh apples for best results.
- Egg Roll Wrappers. You can find these at your local supermarket or an Asian supermarket near you. You can also order them in advance online.
- Unsalted Butter. No need to elevate the salt in the recipe.
- Brown Sugar. Light or dark brown sugar will both work.
- Granulated Sugar. White sugar adds balance to the sweetness profile as too much brown sugar gets overwhelming.
- Cinnamon. Ground from the inner bark of a tree. Several varieties can be purchased.
- Nutmeg. This spice is ground from the seed of a specific evergreen tree. You can buy ground nutmeg or buy a piece of nutmeg and grate it yourself.
- Allspice. Made from specific ground berries and not from a mix of several different spices as the name might imply.
- Salt. For flavor enhancement.
- Lemon juice. The juice of one lemon adds a little tartness and also protects the color of the apples from getting too dark.
- Cornstarch. Used for thickening the sauce that forms.
- Water.
- Oil. Vegetable oil, canola oil, or coconut oil for frying in a skillet.
