Aqua Fresca is so refreshing and a favorite in our house this time of year. With the humidity we have been having, we have stepped up our liquids intake. One of our favorite drinks to make is a cold and refreshing Aqua Fresca, which translates to “Cool Water” in Spanish.
My grandmother used to make these when I was little. We often buy this drink at festivals and sporting events, because it really quenches your thirst when you have been out in the sun. These drinks are very popular in Mexico and are made in many different flavors. It is also so incredibly easy to make. The most time-consuming part is cutting up the watermelon to make the watermelon juice.
You do need a blender or juicer to make the watermelon juice, but it is so good and takes only seconds to make. It is best if your watermelon has been chilled for an hour, but it is not necessary.

This is also a great way to use up left over watermelon when you have some left over from a barbecue or dinner. It is so refreshing and barely sweet so you feel like your thirst is quenched. When was the last time you had watermelon in your refrigerator?
