I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I recently was invited to a wine tasting in Temecula and because both wineries were so unique, I had to break it up into two posts. The first one is here. My second winery that I visited was Wilson Creek Winery. I received a complimentary wine tasting, but all photos, views and opinions are my own.
What is special about Wilson Creek?
What is different about Wilson Creek is it is like a college campus for grown ups. A campus where you study and learn about wine and grapes in a beautiful and sprawling setting. In each direction you look, there are people relaxing, listening to music, playing games and drinking wine at Wilson Creek Winery.
The servers will ask you questions about what you like in a wine and offer you tastings of wines that suit your palette. There were many tasting areas in the main building and every one of them was very busy. We saw quite a few bachelorette and birthday parties that day.
Some of my favorites from the tasting that day were:
Reserve Malbec - a medium bodied wine with plum, fig and raspberry.
ReserveMourvedre - American oak aged and cherries and rasperries and absolutely delicious
Winemakers Select Zinfendel - a taste of black pluns and sage White Cabernet Sauvegnion Golden Jubilee
Everyone was having a great time in this festive and casual atmosphere. Talk about a great place to spend an afternoon.
There is a nice outdoor cafe, the Creekside Lounge, which includes a kids menu. A nice place for a meal that everyone can enjoy.
Their gift shop had some beautiful gifts for any wine lover.

College campus for grown-ups! I love it. Although to be fair, college campuses are full of alcohol and grown-ups (technically) but it is nothing like this. This is wonderful.

He he....kind of true Tamara, but this is a lot better! 🙂

I have been there, but haven't tried the Creekside Cafe yet. Guess that's another excuse to stop in there (I already LOVE their Malbec!)
Raquel
I didn't try the cafe either Ann. We totally need an excuse to go! 🙂
