Pair it with a simple salad and garlic bread, and this dish is the perfect simple Sunday dinner the entire family will love!
My whole family loves chicken parmesan. What’s not to love? Breaded chicken, tangy tomato sauce, and melty mozzarella make the perfect comfort food recipe.

But traditional chicken parm can also be kind of time consuming. That’s why I love this oven-baked chicken parm recipe. It’s fast, easy, and most importantly, delicious. It only requires 6 ingredients and 30 minutes. Perfect for busy weeknights.
This chicken parm pasta bake is everything you love about the classic Italian-American dish without all the breading and frying. Just combine the ingredients, pop it in the oven to bake until crispy, top with more sauce and mozzarella, and serve with some garlic bread and a leafy, green salad.

Ingredients for Garlic Parm Chicken Pasta

This easy pasta recipe is a family favorite that requires just a few simple ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen!
Chicken – Cooked and shredded. I usually use boneless skinless chicken breasts, but you could use cooked chicken tenders.
Penne pasta – or other short form pasta
Fresh Garlic – minced
Mozzarella cheese – I like to shred fresh cheese for the best melt.
Italian seasoning – or a combination of dried basil and oregano
Parmesan Cheese – Again, I like fresh, but grated jarred parmesan from the grocery store will work
Spaghetti Sauce – Use your favorite brand

Substitutions & Alterations
- You can use a homemade or store bought Parmesan sauce for this easy chicken pasta recipe. Any creamy sauce such as vodka sauce or marinara sauce would work.
- You can use different type of pasta
- Add some roasted bell peppers or fresh spinach for a great addition of extra flavor
- I usually use boneless chicken breasts, but you could use chicken tenders.
- Use a gluten free pasta to make this delicious dish a GF recipe.
How to Make Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta Recipe

Save The Recipe!
Step 1 – Preheat your oven and prepare pasta according to package instructions.
While the pasta cooks, heat the pasta sauce with seasonings Drain the cooked pasta and mix with the sauce and cooked, shredded chicken.

Step 2 – Blend ingredients together.

Step 3 – Transfer everything to a casserole dish.Top with Cheese.

Step 4 – Bake as directed.

Step 5 – Let cool and top with additional cheese, if desired.

Time Saving Tips & Tricks for the Best Garlic Parmesan Chicken
- Shred the cheese in the morning to save time during cooking.
- Use fresh cheese for the best melt. Packaged, pre-shredded cheese usually contains an anti-caking agent so it doesn’t clump together. But that also means it doesn’t melt quite as well.
- Shred the chicken ahead of time. You can also use a rotisserie chicken.
- Double the recipe and freeze one for later.
- Prepare the pasta ahead of time.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
How to Serve Garlic Parm Chicken Pasta
- Pair it with a simple green salad, Easy Summer Tomato Salad, Burrata Caprese Salad or my Simple Caprese Salad
- Serve with some crusty bread with a plate or olive oil and herbs or Easy Garlic Bread on the side
- Top with more shredded cheese, chopped parsley or other fresh herbs, or red pepper flakes.
How to Store Leftover Chicken Parm Casserole
Allow the parmesan casserole to cool completely before storing to avoid condensation or excess moisture. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days
You can also freeze the cooked and cooled casserole for up to 6 months.
How to Reheat Garlic Chicken Parmesan
Reheat in the microwave in a microwave safe dish for 2 minutes on high. Stir, and heat again in 30 second bursts until heated through.

Chicken Garlic Parmesan Casserole
Equipment
- Large Bowl
- casserole dish
Ingredients
- 6 oz penne pasta
- 1 pound cooked chicken shredded
- 2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shreeded divided
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded divided
- 32 oz spaghetti sauce
- Chopped parsley optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350° and Cook the pasta accordingly to the package and drain. In a large bowl add the cooked pasta, chicken, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese, and the spaghetti sauce.
- Mix until well combined.
- Spread the mixture into a 9×13 baking dish and cover with foil. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and remove the foil, top with the remaining cheeses all over.
- Bake again for another 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Top with chopped parsley (optional), serve and enjoy!!
