Homemade Buffalo Sauce Recipe

Why This Buffalo Sauce Recipe

The great part about making this chicken wing sauce is that you can make it as hot or as mild as you want. And if you have someone in the family that likes heat, make up a special dish separately just for them!

This is the perfect sauce to make buffalo chicken wings or buffalo chicken dip for game day. It also makes a nice dipping sauce for chicken tenders or celery sticks.

This hot sauce recipe is great because it's a simple way to change up the flavors of food quickly. While most people will add this to chicken wings, I'm also a huge fan of using this a dipping sauce for fries and even veggies, too!

This easy buffalo sauce recipe is great served with french fries. Great in so many dishes,  and the perfect sauce when looking for a spicy kick.

Homemade Buffalo Sauce Recipe

This simple hot wing sauce will have you making up a batch and keeping it stored in your fridge. Since it can last a few days once made, it's a great condiment to have on hand for your upcoming weekly meals.

INGREDIENTS FOR THIS BUFFALO SAUCE RECIPE

Hot sauce - Use your favorite brand! I like Frank's hot sauce, but you can use a different brand.
Unsalted butter - Make certain it's unsalted as there is already quite a bit of salt in hot sauce.
Garlic powder - Don't confuse with garlic salt.
Paprika - for a little kick
Cayenne  - Optional but a fast and easy way to add some heat.

  • Store leftovers of this homemade recipe in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • In a pinch, soy sauce can be substituted for Worcestershire sauce.
  • To raise the spice level, add a little more hot sauce to the mixture.

FAQ

What is Buffalo Sauce?

Buffalo sauce is the same as a chicken wing sauce or hot wing sauce. It's just another name that people tend to call it, depending on what state they're located in.

How long does Buffalo Sauce last?

If you store it in the fridge, it should last up to 7 days without any issues. Since you're not using any ingredients that don't have a long shelf life, it should be fine for several days.

Can you freeze Buffalo Sauce?

You can! Just be certain to add it to a freezer-safe container. Freezing this recipe might cause the ingredients to separate but once it thaws, just stir and enjoy.
