You can make these Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls on the stove top or an air fryer.
This delicious combination is then fried to bring it all together into a tasty snack.

Equipment Needed
- Frying pan. A non-stick pan is a little easier to manage.
- Mixer with whisk attachment. This is optional but makes shredding chicken super easy.
Ingredients for Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls
- Chicken Breasts. You can also use chicken thighs or chicken tenders. Or even use leftover rotisserie chicken or grilled chicken.
- Spices. Paprika, oregano, garlic powder, chili powder, salt and pepper.
- Cayenne Pepper. Optional.
- Cajun Seasoning. Optional.
- Cream Cheese. Make sure to get a quality brand. Check and compare the ingredients to a good brand name if you are unsure but want to save money.
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese. You can also use a cheese blend.
- Butter. Helps the filling with flavor and fluidity.
- Hot Sauce. You can also use Buffalo sauce.
- Egg Roll Wrappers. These come in a package and are usually refrigerated. You may find them near produce or near the Asian section of your grocery store.
- Oil. This will be used for frying so a high-heat-safe oil is best. Avocado oil is wonderful!

How to Make Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls
Step 1 - Season the chicken breast on both sides with the spice mixture. Then, cook it on medium high heat in a skillet with oil until completely cooked.
Shred the cooked chicken with a mixer or forks. If you prefer, you can also throw the chicken breasts in a pressure cooker on high for twenty-five minutes for easily shreddable chicken.
Step 2 - mix the room temperature cream cheese, mozzarella, sauce, and butter. Stir it all up. Microwave if needed. Add the chicken and cream cheese together and add the filling to the wrappers. Roll up.

Step 3 - Fry in oil or in air fryer (instructions below).
Step 4 -Fry until golden brown and drain.
Serve with dipping sauce or dressing.
How to Wrap an Egg Roll
- Place filling diagonally on wrap.
- Fold bottom corner over filling.
- Roll snuggly halfway to cover filling.
- Fold in both sides snuggly against filling.
- Use water to moisten the edges of the flap.
- Roll wrapper up and seal top corner.
- Lay flat side down until ready to cook.
Tips for Perfect Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls
- Using a mixer with a whisk attachment to shred the chicken will do it more thoroughly than trying to use forks while it’s hot.
- The mixer will also cool off the chicken so that you can handle it when you’re ready to fill your egg roll wrappers.
- Be sure to add filling to the middle of the wrapper
- Using two wrappers will allow you to create a more hearty egg roll and it will be more crispy!
- Use rotisserie chicken and save time.
- store leftover egg rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer.
- Use either water or egg wash to dampen the edges so they stick together
Variations
- Make the same recipe with shredded pork or cooked ground beef. in the egg roll filling.
- Instead of hot sauce, use a different sauce for a completely different flavor.
- Use cheddar, Colby jack, or a Mexican or Italian cheese blend instead of mozzarella.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with your sauces of choice. Buffalo wing sauce, ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing - all of these work as a good dipping sauce.
Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls in an Air Fryer
To make buffalo chicken eggrolls in an air fryer. follow instructions for assembly and then:
- Spray basket with olive oil spray
- Brush your egg rolls with a little bit of oil.
- Place eggrolls in a single layer in an air fryer basket seam side down.
- Cook at 400 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes, turning over the egg rolls halfway.
- Let cool.

Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls
Equipment

Ingredients
- 2 chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne optional
- 1 teaspoon cajun seasoning optional
- 3 ounces cream cheese room temperature 1 ½ cups of shredded mozzarella cheese 2 tablespoons melted butter
- ½ cup hot sauce or buffalo sauce
- 1 package egg roll wrappers
- ½ cup or more oil for frying
Instructions
- Season chicken breast on both sides
- Cook on medium high heat until completely done Shred fully cooked chicken with mixer or forks Add shredded chicken to a large bowl
- Mixing cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, buffalo or hot sauce, and melted butter
- Mix until fully incorporated, if cream cheese is not spreadable warm up the mixture for 30 seconds in the microwave
- Add 1 ½ tablespoons of the filling to wrappers.
- Roll wrappers

- Fry in vegetable oil on medium high heat until both sides are golden brown.
- Drain rolls on paper towel.
