How to Make Banana Cream Pie Cupcakes
Making banana cream pie cupcakes is not as hard as it might seem. First, you make the banana cream filling using a pudding mix. Then you mix up the yellow cake mix and add banana flavoring. Bake the cupcakes and let them cool. Then you will pipe the filling in and top with homemade whipped cream and candied bananas. It comes together very easily and will wow guests of all ages!
Ingredients for Banana Cream Pie Cupcake Recipe
- Instant Banana Pudding Mix. A 6 oz. box.
- Whole Milk. Needed for the fat content and flavor for the banana cream filling.
- Yellow Cake Mix. Any brand will work.
- Eggs. Large, whole eggs.
- Vegetable Oil. Canola will also work.
- Water. Room temperature tap water is fine.
- Banana Flavoring. Found in the spice/flavorings section at your local grocery store or order online if it is hard to find.
- Bananas. Ripe bananas are needed so plan ahead.
- Granulated Sugar. Regular table sugar.
- Powdered Sugar. Confectioner's sugar.
- Heavy Whipping Cream. To make your own flavored whipped cream.
- Banana or Rum Flavoring. For the homemade whipped cream, rum is especially nice.

Step-By-Step Instructions
- Prepare pudding using milk according to package directions. Let the pudding set while the cupcakes bake. This is how to make banana cream filling for cupcakes - it's just banana pudding!
- Preheat the oven to 350°F line two muffin pans with paper baking cups.
- Prepare cake mix according to package directions and add 1 teaspoon banana flavoring, spoon batter
evenly into prepared muffin cups. - Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in pain for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
