Time Saving Tips & Tricks

  • Buy a pre-sliced spiral ham so the glaze seeps into every slice.
  • Prepare glaze up to 2 days ahead and refrigerate; just warm before brushing on.
  • Use a roasting pan with a bottom rack for even cooking. Tent with foil if the ham browns too quickly.
  • Save the leftovers! They are almost as good as the main dish. Leftover ham is perfect for sandwiches, Ham Casseroles, Breakfast Quiche, or tossing into a Cheesy Ham and Potato Soup or a stew.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days.

Serving and Storage Suggestions

Pair with classic sides like Scalloped Potatoes, Parmesan Smashed Potatoes, Old Fashioned Mac and Cheese, some veggies like Asparagus, green beans or carrots, and some Dinner Rolls. This also goes great with any of these Easy Side Dishes.

Save extra glaze on the side as a dipping sauce.

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze ham slices for up to 2 months.

How to Reheat Sliced Ham

Reheat slices of ham on the stovetop. Heat a tablespoon or two of water in a skillet over medium heat and add the ham slices. Heat for 2-3 minutes, turning over once, or until hot.

Reheat larger amounts in a preheated 350° oven in a casserole dish for about 10 minutes. Add a little liquid to the bottom of the dish so the ham doesn’t dry out.
