This divinely delicious recipe uses simple but fresh ingredients for ultimate flavor
Chicken – I like to use boneless, skinless chicken breasts. You can sub thighs or tenders

Mozzarella cheese – lots of cheeses will work. See some of my suggestions below.
Bacon – cooked and chopped
Paprika
Garlic powder
Salt and black pepper
Sour cream and parsley – optional, for garnish
Equipment Needed To Make
- Cast iron or oven proof skillet
- Instant-read thermometer
Substitutions & Alterations
- Use different types of cheese – Cheddar cheese, gorgonzola or Blue cheese, fontina, asiago or parmesan cheese. All sorts of cheese will work great with this recipe.
- For a deeper, smoky flavor, try smoked paprika.
- You could substitute chicken thighs or chicken tenders.Be sure to use a cooking thermometer as cooking time will vary depending on cut used. Always cook chicken to an internal temp of 165°F.
- To reduce the calorie content of the dish, replace the bacon with ham and use low-calorie cheese.

Time Saving Tips & Tricks
- For best results, use a cooking thermometer to monitor chicken doneness. Internal temperature of the thickest part of the chicken should be 165°F
- Use a meat tenderizer on the chicken before cooking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
How to Serve Ranch Chicken
- Serve the chicken dish with some delicious Garlic Knots, fresh dinner rolls or warm, homemade bread.
- Add a side dish like Grilled Asparagus, roasted green beans and baby carrots, or Balsamic Bacon Brussels Sprouts.
- This ranch chicken can be served with pasta, rice, potato wedges, or baked or au gratin potatoes.
How to Store Leftover Chicken
Make sure the chicken is cooled to room temp before storing. Place the cooled leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate. Eat leftovers within 3-4 days.
How to Reheat Bacon Ranch Chicken
I like to reheat this chicken dish in the oven or the air fryer to maintain its textural integrity. Between the cheese, dressing, bacon, and chicken, the microwave just doesn’t do it with all the individual components at play.
In the Oven – Place leftover chicken in a casserole dish or on a sheet pan and cover loosely with aluminum foil. Reheat chicken in a preheated 350° oven for 10-15 minutes until warmed through completely.
In the Air Fryer – place the chicken in a single layer and heat on 350 for 5-7 minutes or until heated.
