Valentines Popcorn Recipe Easy

Ingredients For Holiday Popcorn

This recipe only requires two ingredients.

Popcorn. Either air-popped popcorn or non-buttered microwave popcorn.

Candy Melts. You can use one color or two. I like the contrast of two. I used bright pink and white candy melts. I was able to make a lighter pink using the white melts. You can use red candy melts too

Equipment Needed to Make Valentines Popcorn

  • Parchment paper. Without parchment paper, the baking popcorn mixture will stick to your sheet pans, so parchment is a necessity.
  • Baking Sheet or large tray
  • Air Popper Popcorn Machine. If you don’t have or want a machine, just make sure to get plain microwave popcorn (not the buttered kind).

Why can’t I use buttered popcorn?

While you might be able to use buttered popcorn in a pinch, it may not hold the cinnamon coating as well. Butter also affects the flavor. Plain popcorn is really a better choice as the foundation for this delicious candy coating.

Variations, Notes, and Substitutions:

  • You can change up the colors of the candy melts and even combine some for more variations.
  • You can add pink or red sprinkles to the mix.
  • You can make chocolate covered popcorn by adding some melted white chocolate chips and drizzling over popcorn in the same manner.

Serving and Storage Suggestions

  • Serve in clear snack bags. These also make a nice party favor or lunch box surprise.
  • Use this valentine popcorn to make your own valentine popcorn mix. Add some pink and white m&ms and some pink candy corn to make a great snack mix. Nice for a movie night.
