A delicious Everything Bagel recipe that makes a great breakfast bagel. Topped with a bagel seasoning mixture of poppy seeds and sesame seeds, these everything bagels are so flavorful. Perfect with cream cheese or butter. 

These are also great with ham or roast beef for a bagel sandwich.

This simple homemade bagel recipe is incredibly easy and is made with just a handful of ingredients . 

The result is a hot, fresh bagel that is seasoned with a blend of black sesame seeds, white sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic powder, onion flakes and sea salt flakes.

Easy Everything Bagels

Ingredients For Mint Simple Syrup Recipe & Equipment

  • Active Dry Yeast
  • Bread Flour
  • Water
  • Sugar
  • Olive Oil
  • Everything Bagel seasoning - You can find a bagel seasoning blend at the grocery store or at Trader Joes.

How to Make Everything Bagels

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl or measuring cup stir together water, yeast and granulated sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine bread flour, salt and yeast mixture after 10 minutes. Work the dough together by hand until smooth (7-10 mins).
  3. Add Olive oil to a clean bowl and place dough on top. Cover with a damp and clean kitchen towel and sit in a warm place for one hour to let the dough rise.
  4. After the dough rises (about an hour), place the dough and place on a floured surface.

  5. Punch the dough several times.
  6. Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces
  7. Place a sheet of parchment paper on large baking sheets.
  8. Pinch the bagel dough into circles. Cover and let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes. Prepare a large pot of boiling water.
  9. Place the bagels into the pot of boiling water for one minute on each side, then return to the
    baking tray to give them a quick water bath. Brush the tops of the bagels with an egg wash (1 egg + 1 tablespoon of water)
  10. Sprinkle with Everything Bagel Seasoning and bake.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ¼ cups warm water
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 ½ cup bread flour
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup Everything Bagel seasoning

Instructions

  • Cover and let sit 10 mins
  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees
  • Prepare a large pot of boiling water
  • Flour the tips of your fingers and pinch a hole through the ball of dough with your index finger. Make a hole by poking through in a circular motion.
  • Place the bagels into the pot of boiling water for one minute on each side, then return to the
  • baking tray. *Do not over crowd the pot, dip in batches*
  • Brush the tops of the bagels with an egg wash (1 egg + 1 tablespoon water)
  • Sprinkle with Everything Bagel Seasoning.
  • Bake for 20 min or until golden brown

Notes

If desired, you can add a little coarse sea salt to the seasoning mixture.
Store baked bagels in an airtight container.

    Wonderful! My mom has an everything bagel recipe but it's only 2-3 ingredients and I need something with a little more oomph, like this!
