Easy. These Jello-o shots are super easy to make with simple ingredients. You can make these ahead of time the day before and they will be ready when you are.

Tasty. These make a delicious treat for the grown ups that is so tasty! The different flavors of the gelatin blend together nicely in this layered cocktail recipe.

Ingredients

Just a few simple ingredients are needed for this recipe. Refer to the recipe card for the measurements.

  • 3 flavors of gelatin
  • Vanilla vodka
  • whipped cream

Instructions

Add the packages of yellow gelatin to the boiling water.

Add cold water to the hot water, then add the vanilla vodka. Whisk well.

Fill up each shot cup about a third of the way with the gelatin mixture. Pour into jello shot cups and refrigerate.

When set, repeat the gelatin preparation process and pour in the next layer of the shots. Chill again,

Repeat a third time with the final layer. Add to the shots and return to chill.

Chill at least 4 hours. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and add a candy before serving. YUM!

Substitutions & Variations

Make these festive with these fun variations

  • Toppings - Add a marshmallow peep or mini marshmallows to the top of the shot.
  • Colors- use different flavors of gelatin to change up the colors.
  • Vanilla Cream - You can use whipped cream vodka in place of the vanilla vodka.

Time-saving Tips

  • For better release of the jello shots, you can dab a little bit of butter on a paper towel and wipe the inside of the cups before filling.
  • Make these the day before, but do not top them until the day you are serving.
  • Chill the vodka in the refrigerator prior to making these for a quicker chill time.
  • Place the prepared shots on a cookie sheet so that you can transfer them to the refrigerator and serving area easily.

Yes, if you do not have shot glasses, you can fill up an ice cube tray using the same layering method.

Can I put Jello shots in a cooler?

Yes, but if transferring them for a few hours, I would pop them in the freezer first.

Yes, you can freeze them for about 3 months.

Equipment

  • plastic shot cups or condiment cups
  • large measuring cup
  • saucepan
  • Whisk
  • 3 medium bowls you will need separate bowls for each flavor
  • 20 3 oz. plastic cups or plastic shot glasses

Ingredients
  

  • 2 3 oz packages pineapple gelatin
  • 1 3.94 oz. package Starburst Blue Raspberry jello
  • 1 3.94 oz. package Starburst Pink Strawberry jello
  • 8 cups water divided
  • 2 cups vanilla vodka divided
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Easter M&Ms or other Easter candy for topping

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  • Remove from the heat, and whisk in two packages of pineapple jello
  • Stir in 1 cup of cold water and 1 cup of vodka
  • Pour evenly into the plastic cups, filling 1⁄3 full with the yellow jello.
  • Move the cups to the refrigerator to chill for 2 hours, or until jello is set.
  • Meanwhile, bring 1 1⁄2 cups of water to a boil.
  • Remove from the heat and whisk in blue raspberry jello.
  • Stir in 1 cup of water and 1⁄2 cup vodka.
  • Allow the blue jello to cool completely.
  • Once first layer has set and blue jello has cooled, divide the blue jello among the cups, filling to
  • the cups about 2⁄3 full.
  • Move the cups back to the refrigerator to chill for 2 hours, or until 2nd layer has set.
  • Meanwhile, bring another 1 1⁄2 cups of water to a boil.
  • Remove from the heat and whisk in Pink Starburst jello.
  • Stir in 1 cup of water and 1⁄2 cup vodka.
  • Allow the pink jello to cool completely.
  • Once the second layer has set, divide the pink jello among the cups to fill the rest of the way, to add the top layer.
  • Move the cups back to the refrigerator to chill, until the final layer has set, about 2 hours.
  • Before serving, top with whipped cream and your Easter candy.
