This easy Cranberry Sauce with Orange Juice is perfect for a Thanksgiving dinner! I love the hint of orange in this homemade cranberry sauce recipe for a lovely tangy flavor!
When I first held Thanksgiving dinner, I used to buy a canned version of cranberry sauce. Once I began making Cranberry orange sauce myself, I loved how delicious it was and how tasty it was too!
A friend of mine asked me for this recipe recently so I wanted to share it in advance of Thanksgiving, It will be here before you know it and this recipe is so easy and really tastes great with a turkey dinner.
This recipe is made with cranberries and the season for cranberries is super short. It is typically available in the markets from October through December. If you cannot find fresh, frozen is the next best thing.
Today’s recipe is a wonderful complement to sliced turkey as well as to a turkey sandwich.

Cranberries– of course, these are the star of this show. Fresh cranberries in the product section are the best for this recipe. Many times, these are available in a pre-bagged variety. You can use the berries you don’t use for the sauce to make jam or add them to salads.
Orange – Pick a navel orange that is firm but gives a little.

Wash and drain the cranberries
Cook the cranberries in a saucepan on the stove.
Cook until boiling.
Let cook slightly before serving.

2 cups fresh cranberries
1 1/4 cups of water
1 cup of sugar
Juice from two oranges
Wash and drain cranberries.
Bring water to a boil and add cranberries, sugar and orange juice.
Boil for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
I like to make this the day before and let it chill in the refrigerator.
Don’t want to take the time to juice the oranges? Substitute 1/2 cup of prepared orange juice for the juice from oranges.
