Today I am sharing a super quick 10-minute recipe for Dark Chocolate Covered Strawberries. These Valentine’s day chocolate-covered strawberries are made with semi-sweet chocolate chips and fresh strawberries.cIt is a two-ingredient recipe which makes it super easy!

There is no need to spend big dollars on these when you can make chocolate strawberries at home.

These are made with fresh strawberries and dark chocolate chips. They are the perfect chocolate treat and they are delicious!

  • large fresh strawberries – pick large red ripe strawberries with stems.
  • semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips –

  • small bowl – heat safe bowl for microwave
  • cookie sheet
  • wax paper or parchment paper

How To Make Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Step 1 – First, you will need large strawberries with bright green leaves. I usually buy a container that has a few large ones in it. Wash strawberries and let dry.

Step 2 – Then all you need is some semi-sweet chocolate chips. You melt the chips on low heat in a microwave-safe bowl until the chocolate is creamy. Dip strawberries in the melted chocolate.

Step 3 – Place chocolate covered berries on a parchment-lined baking sheet, a couple of inches apart. Chill them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, until set. That’s it!

  • For best results, use room temperature strawberries so that the chocolate will not set to quickly.Make sure that you dip dry strawberries in the chocolate.
  • You can make these the morning of or the day before, but more than that and they will start to break.
  • If the chocolate is still a little thick, you can add a teaspoon of shortening or add a little bit of coconut oil, and pop in the microwave at 50% power for about 10 seconds.
  • You can also melt chocolate using the double boiler method.
  • Store leftover chocolate strawberries in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

  • 12 Large Stemmed Strawberries
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips

  • Wash the strawberries and let dry.
  • Heat the chocolate chips in the microwave on 50% power for 45 seconds at a time until chocolate is melted. It will vary by microwave so check after each round.

    I once had a boy courting me make me chocolate covered raspberries too. They’re smushier, though.
