Substitutions and Variations

  • Instead of Kool-Aid: Use black cherry or grape juice concentrate.
  • Instead of soda: Use sparkling water or lemon-lime seltzer for less sweetness.
  • For natural coloring: Mix blueberry and pomegranate juice instead of food dye.

For a lime twist: Add lime sherbet instead of ice for a creamy punch.

Raquel’s Time Saving Tips

  • Mix the Kool-Aid base a day ahead; add soda just before serving to keep it fizzy.
  • Pre-chill all liquids — no need for excess ice watering down the drink.
  • Serve in a black cauldron punch bowl for instant party vibes with zero effort.
  • Freeze some of the punch mixture into ice cubes to keep it cold without dilution.

Storage Suggestions

Store leftover punch in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Serving Suggestion

  • Serve in paper or plastic cups.
  • Serve in a punch bowl and add a floating “hand” ice mold (frozen water in a latex glove) for a dramatic touch. If serving in a punch bowl, when the guests arrive add the ¾ of the bottle ginger ale to the bowl and as many scoops of ice cream as desired.
  • Pair this tasty punch with these cracker spiders , this candy corn fudge, or these mini donut spiders.
