Tips for the Best Results
- Line your square baking pan with parchment paper or wax paper so the fudge releases cleanly. Nonstick cooking spray works too, but parchment or foil makes lifting easier.
- Work quickly after melting the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, since white chocolate fudge firms up fast.
- Use candy colorings like gel food coloring for the yellow layer and orange layer. Regular liquid coloring can thin the fudge too much.
- Cut into small squares with a sharp knife once chilled for neat, even layers.
Substitutions and Variations
- Try peanut butter chips or peanut butter swirled into one layer for a flavor twist.
- Add chopped candy bars like a Butterfinger candy bar for a fun crunch.
- Use candy melts if you don’t have white chocolate chips on hand.
- A drop or two of vanilla extract mixed into the final layer gives a richer flavor.
- Make it in a loaf pan instead of a square baking pan for slightly thicker pieces.
- For a softer texture, melt the ingredients on low heat using a double boiler or medium saucepan on medium heat instead of the microwave.
