These chocolate spider pretzel webs are a fun treat and perfect for a Halloween party. Made with jusst a few simple ingredients, this Halloween treat recipe only takes a few minutes to put together. You just have to allow some time for the melted chocolate to set.

This is a fun treat for kids to get involved in the creation process.

Spider Web Pretzels Ingredients

  • Milk Chocolate Melting Wafers –  I used brown but you could also use white candy melts or black candy melts. My favorite brand is Melt’ems. They really work the best.
  • Pretzels sticks – use the small pretzel sticks 
  • M and M candies  or similar
  • candy eyes – you can use various sizes of candy eyeballs 
  • Halloween Sprinkles (optional)

Substitutions

  • You can use a raisin or candy spider in place of the m and m.
  • You can use different types of candy or sprinkles for a unique twist.

  • baking sheet or cookie sheet
  • wax paper or parchment paper
  • piping bag
  • round piping tip

How to Make Pretzel Spider Webs

Step 1: Prepare The Pretzels

Spread wax paper on work surface or cookie sheet. Break each pretzel in half carefully and arrange in groups of six.

Step 2: Melt The Chocolate

In the microwave, melt the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl per package instructions. Use a spoon to stir the melts.

Place the melted chocolate into the pastry bag with the round piping tip

Add a small circle of melted chocolate to the center of each of the 6 pretzel pieces.  The inner edge of each pretzel stick should be covered.

Step 3: Assemble The Spiders

Carefully add the chocolate candies and candy eyes to the center of each web.

Step 4: Making the Web

Starting from the center continue piping in a circular motion to the outer edges of the pretzels.

Let the pretzels set about an hour before moving to a serving tray.

Again, my favorite brand of melts is Melt’Ems. I find that some melts don’t work as well but these do.

Equipment

  • 1 Cookie sheet
  • Wax paper

Ingredients
  

  • 72 pretzel sticks
  • 1/2 bag chocolate melts
  • 12 m and m candies
  • 24 candy eyes

Instructions
 

  • In the microwave, melt the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl per package instructions. Use a spoon to stir the melts.
  • Place wax paper on a baking sheet or kitchen counter.
  • Cut pretzels in half and set six pretzels in circles with spokes going out. Don't worry if the pretzels roll a bit, you will be securing then soon.
  • Place the melted chocolate into the pastry bag with piping tip.
  • Using the pastry bag, add a small circle of melted chocolate to the center of each of the 6 pretzel pieces.  The inner edge of each pretzel stick should be covered. Repeat for all spiderwebs.
  • Add one chocolate candy and two eyes to each chocolate circle.
  • Make the webs. Starting from the center of the "webs" pipe chocolate web in a circular motion to the outer edges of the pretzels, using a spiral motion.
  • Let spiderwebs set for at least an hour. Test one before moving with a spatula.

Notes

Store leftovers in a cool place in an airtight container.
