I like to throw a few toffee bits on top of the cake batter before baking for some crunch.

Cook time may vary a little with oven size.
Once they are baked, you can enjoy the chocolate cake in the mug or pop them out, which I like to do.

Then I like to spread a little Nutella on top ~ Decadent, I know!
Ingredients & Preparation Tips for this recipe
Hazelnut Spread – I have to go with Nutella on this one. It really is the best hazelnut spread in my opinion. I also like to spread the top of the cake with Nutella and a few bits for more flavor. I like to pop the cakes out of the mugs but you can enjoy them in the mugs if you wish.
Whipped Cream – Ok you really don’t have to have whipped cream for this recipe, but it makes a nice topping for the cakes. You can also top with a scoop of ice cream too!
Toffee Bits – I like to add a few toffee bits before baking, but you can top them with chocolate chips if you like. They just add a little flavor.
Peanut Butter – frost the entire cake with your favorite brand.
Brownie Style – You can also top this with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and chopped nuts.
