I can’t tell you how often I want lasagna, and then I get halfway through and think “Why did I do this to myself again?” It was during one of these moments that I decided to come with a recipe just as delicious but way, way easier! Enter the Ravioli Lasagna Bake, aka Lazy Lasagna.

Ingredients for Lazy Lasagna Bake

Lazy Lasagna Ingredients

This recipe only requires 3 simple ingredients. You can add additional ingredients, I’ve listed suggestions below, to make it your family’s tastes.

  • Frozen or fresh ravioli – Use spinach ravioli, beef ravioli, cheese ravioli or even tortellini.
  • Pasta sauce – You can use a Marinara sauce, Spicy Arrabbiata, Bolognese or vodka sauce.
  • Mozzarella cheese – Use pre-shredded packaged mozzarella to save even more time.

Equipment Needed To Make 

  • Casserole dish – yep, that’s all!

Substitutions & Alterations

  • Grated Parmesan cheese on top or mixed in with the mozz.
  • Fresh sliced basil or chopped parsley for garnish after it bakes.
  • Add cooked ground beef or sausage or even pepperoni slices before topping with the shredded cheese.
  • The recipe calls for ravioli, but you can also use tortellini as a good sub.
  • Use your favorite jarred or homemade marina, or switch it up with a vodka blush sauce or spicy arabiatta.

How to Make Lazy Lasagna Step 1

Step 1 – Prepare baking dish. Add pasta sauce to dish.

Step 2 – Layer ravioli on top of the sauce.

Step 3 – Add more pasta sauce over the ravioli.

Step 4 –  Add cheese and repeat layers once more. Cover and bake.

Step 6 – Remove foil and bake 15 more minutes. Remove pasta from the oven and cool.

Raquel’s Time Saving Tips & Tricks

  • Use pre-shredded cheese and no-cook ravioli to make this even faster. You can even assemble ahead of time and refrigerate until dinnertime!
  • Spray foil with cooking spray before covering to avoid cheese sticking.
  • Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving for cleaner slices.
  • Double the batch for a freezer meal option!

What to Serve with Easy Lasagna

Add a sprinkle of thinly sliced basil strips or chopped fresh parsley as garnish. You can also add more Parmesan cheese or some or red pepper flakes for a little heat

You definitely want to pair this with a Simple Greens Salad and Homemade Garlic Bread.

Storage and Reheating Instructions

Allow leftovers to cool completely before transferring to the refrigerator. Store remaining lasagna casserole in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

Leftover lasagna also freezes well for up to 2 months. Thaw completely, ideally overnight in the fridge, before reheating.

Reheat lasagna in a microwave or oven at 350°F until warmed through.

Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bag frozen cheese ravioli
  • 1 jar pasta sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella

Instructions
 

  • .Set your oven to 400°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  • Start by adding a light layer of pasta sauce to the bottom of the dish to coat it.
  • Place a layer of frozen ravioli on top of the sauce, keeping the pieces in a single layer.
  • Add another layer of sauce over the ravioli, then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella.
  • Repeat with a second layer of ravioli, more sauce, and the remaining cheese.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and return to the oven for another 15 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
  • Let it sit for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Go for a good-quality sauce (you can always boost it with garlic, onion powder, and Italian seasoning)
  • This dish freezes beautifully — just thaw overnight and bake covered until heated through.
