Why Make Your Own All Purpose Seasoning Spice Blend?

This all purpose seasoning blend is cheaper to make at home. Why pay $6-7 dollars for a tiny bottle of something you can make yourself? This spice mix helps bring out the natural flavor in so many foods and elevates everything from pork chops and steaks, to chicken breasts and soups. It is also great on pasta salad and potato salad.

Homemade seasoning blends allow you to control the amount of sodium and spice that works for your family, and you can reduct the added sugar that is in many store-bought blends.

Homemade seasoning mix is so easy to make in minutes with everyday spices. You can also customize it by adding additional spices and herbs.

  • garlic salt
  • onion powder
  • thyme
  • coriander
  • basil
  • rosemary
  • cumin
  • red pepper
  • black pepper
  • kosher salt

How to make All purpose seasoning

Combine all spices into a large bowl and mix thoroughly into lean ground beef

Form into ball shape with your hands

Press into patties on the tray

Your everyday seasoning is ready to use!

Substitutions & Variations

This blend of spices has the perfect flavor to work well with so many foods, but you can change it up too.

  • savory spices - You can add other spices to this all purpose blend. Some options are paprika, cayenne pepper, celery salt or celery seeds.
  • Bun - use gluten free buns instead of white bread buns to make this gluten free

Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place or in your I like to store my homemade spice blend in my spice cabinet. I label an empty spice jar with a "house seasoning" label.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon coriander
  • ½ teaspoon rosemary
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

  • In a medium sized mixing bowl combine all ingredients together
  • Whisk until well combined
  • Transfer and store in airtight container of your choice
