How to Make Christmas Krispie Treats

Pro Tips and Timesaver Shortcuts

  • You can make these treats by using store-bought Rice Krispie treats. All you do is unwrap them and then cover them with chocolate and decorate.
  • You can use a square cookie cutter or a pastry scraper for quick cutting.
  • The number of treats depends on several factors – how large you cut homemade treats if you use storebought ready-made treats. The photos here are made with ready-made treats which are smaller in size. You can make about 18 treats if you make them homemade.

Variations, Notes, and Substitutions

  • Four cups of mini marshmallows can substitute for large marshmallows.
  • For best results, use fresh marshmallows.
  • 1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow crème can be substituted for marshmallows
  • You can use white chocolate-covered mini pretzels to change up the reindeers.

Serving and Storage Suggestions

  • Store at room temperature in an airtight container.
  • These look really cute in a styrofoam holder or in mason jars on your dessert table.

Wrap the reindeer in cellophane bags for a fun takeaway party favor. They would also look cute on a cupcake or at a place setting. See below.
