Sharing is caring!

Today I am participating in a wonderful birthday celebration for Meghan of The Tasty Fork. Meghan shares some wonderful recipes on her blog and I am so excited to be a part of her birthday celebration!

I am bringing my Snickerdoodles to the party.

HB Megan

This recipe is the one I currently use and is adapted from the Heartland cookbook published over 20 years ago. I have tried several adaptions and this is my favorite and has been my go to for many years. These cookies are so soft and light and are tasty as ever.

Snickerdoodles

Try them and be sure to give a Happy Birthday shout out to Meghan!

 Snickerdoodles

2 sticks butter, softened

1 ½ cup sugar

2 eggs

2 ¾ cups flour

1 teaspoon cream of tartar

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

Cream together butter sugar and eggs. Combine dry ingredients separately and incorporate into butter mixture. Chill dough at least 1 hour. While dough is chilling, prepare topping.

Topping

⅓ cup sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Form into balls and roll in topping mixture. Drop by teaspoonful onto a greased or parchment lined cookie sheet.

Bake for 10-11 minutes until golden.

Enjoy!

Snickerdoodles for Meg

These are one of my top ten favorite cookies. What is in your top ten?

Hi, I'm Raquel! I am a self-proclaimed foodie and have enjoyed cooking and baking since I was little. I loved baking cookies with my mother and grandma as a child, and later making dinners for my parents to foster my passion while in high school. I also had a passion for organizing and keeping things tidy.
