Timesaving Tips for this Classic Recipe
- Use chilled club soda, so that the soda won't cause the ice cream to melt too quickly.
- Use a tall glass that can hold the soda and ice cream, leaving room for foam and whipped cream on top.
- Pour in the soda slowly so that it does not overflow.
- Don't forget the whipped cream and a cherry. A classic old fashioned ice cream soda ALWAYS has whipped cream and a cherry!
- Seltzer water can be subbed for club soda.
By following these tips, you can create a delicious and refreshing ice cream soda that is cold, creamy and full of flavor, without feeling heavy like a malt.
