Summer is a great time for this salad. It is the perfect salad for a potluck or barbecue and the tropical colors look so lovely on a buffet.

Hello Friends! How is your summer so far? It’s my favorite season and while this year is different, I still enjoy the longer and warmer days. We have been enjoying some barbecues and small gatherings to celebrate the season. When you are looking for a colorful side dish, this fruit salad recipe will make the table festive.
Why not savor the season with a salad full of fresh summer fruit? Kids love it too!

It is perfect as is, but you could top it off with some whipped cream if you like.

List of main ingredients:
Pineapple – I like to use fresh pineapple. This recipe uses a little less than a whole pineapple, but the flavor is so great and reminds me of being in Hawaii under swaying palm trees.
Mango – Fresh mango is what you want to use here. If you want, you can purchase precut mango pieces.
Strawberries – Pick a carton of bright strawberries that do not have any mold or dark discoloration on them.
Oranges -I prefer Mandarin oranges because they are small in size and so easy to add to the mix. Their juice adds a nice “dressing” to the salad.
Variations on this recipe.
You can easily change up this recipe by changing the grape variety or by adding other fruits like peeled papaya or dragonfruit.

- For a picnic or gathering, make individual fresh fruit salads and store them in these containers. These are great to make ahead and nice to have as a healthy snack.

To use whipped cream or not.. that is the question! I agree that it doesn’t need it. So much amazing sweetness. And oh, that Mandarin orange juice. YUM.
Yes, lots of natural sweetness – like you Tamara!
