Raquel’s Time Saving Tips ⏱️
- Use a large skillet over medium heat to cook the seasoned ground beef mixture, then drain excess grease before assembling.
- Spread the meat mixture evenly over the bottom buns in your baking dish for layers that hold together well.
- A baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil helps prevent mess when assembling.
- Always brush melted butter over the tops of the slider buns to get that golden finish.
- Slice rolls cleanly with a serrated knife, so the top buns don’t tear.
- For the best part of the flavor, let the homemade Big Mac sauce rest in a small bowl or airtight container in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Substitutions and Variations
- Swap ground beef for ground turkey if you want a lighter option.
- Try Hawaiian rolls in place of sesame seed buns for a slightly sweet twist.
- Switch out cheddar cheese for slices of American cheese or American cheese slices to keep it closer to the iconic McDonald’s burger.
- Add a little extra onion mixture or chopped white onion for stronger flavor.
- For a fun recipe variation, make a mini Big Mac salad using the same classic flavors without the buns.
- Leftover Big Mac sliders can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat covered in aluminum foil on a cookie sheet or baking sheet until warm.
