Raquel’s Time Saving Tips
- eUse a serrated knife to slice the rolls in half evenly while keeping them connected.
- Use a pastry brush to evenly coat the tops of the rolls with the butter mixture.
- Sprinkle poppy seeds generously across the top of each roll for extra crunch and flavor.
- Cover with aluminum foil during the first part of baking to help melt the cheese without drying out the tops of the buns
- Remove foil for the last few minutes to help the tops of the sliders turn golden brown
Substitutions and Variations
- Swap out Swiss for cheddar cheese, provolone, or a mix of shredded cheeses.
- Use leftover baked ham or spiral ham instead of deli ham.
- Try different slider buns like dinner rolls or sweet rolls if you can’t find King’s Hawaiian rolls.
- Add a little bit of brown sugar to the butter mixture for a sweeter glaze and more of a Hawaiian Hame slider.
- Sprinkle on Everything bagel seasoning instead of poppy seeds for a twist.
- Use roast beef instead of ham for French dip sliders with melted Swiss cheese.
