- Box angel food cake mix – I used a 16 oz box for this recipe
- Crushed pineapple – undrained
- Whipped topping – for serving

- Large bowl
- 9×13 baking pan
- *You can also use a bundt cake pan instead
Substitutions & Alterations
- Top with whipped cream and mint leaf or lemon balm
- This recipe will also work with diced canned peaches!
- You can also make this a tube pan/bundt pan if you would like a round cake.

How To Make Angel Food Cake with Pineapple

Step 1 – Add the cake mix in a large mixing bowl. Add pineapple

Step 2 – Stir until blended.

Step 2 – Pour into a 13″ x 9 ” baking dish and bake as directed

Step 4 – Let cool before serving. Serve with whipped cream or dessert topping
Helpful Tips & Tricks
- Don’t use pineapple chunks, it does need to be crushed pineapple for best results.
- If you have canned pineapple chunks you want to use, pulse them in your food processor until the right crushed consistency.
- Be sure not to drain the pineapple. You want all that sweet, juicy goodness.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container, separately, in the refrigerator.
Serving and Storage Suggestions
Serve with whipped cream or ice cream. Or both.

Equipment
- large mixing bowl
- Electric hand mixer
- 13 x 9" baking pan
Ingredients
- 1 16 ounce box angel food cake mix
- 1 20 oz can crushed pineapple undrained
- Whipped topping and mint for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl using an electric mixer whip the cake mix and crushed pineapple together.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake 35-40 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
- Let cake cool completely.
- Garnish with whipped topping and serve!
Notes
Do not try to substitute pineapple chunks, it does need to be crushed pineapple.
You can also make this an angel food pan if you would like a round cake.
