These pinwheel appetizers taste just like jalapeno poppers only better. The combination of cream cheese mixed with the jalapeno peppers makes for a delicious finger food snack and it is a very easy recipe.

Pinwheel appetzers are the perfect party food because you can make them ahead of time and you don’t have to spend a lot of time to prepare them. Pinwheels are one of my favorite appetizers and are a great appetizer for game day too.

Ingredients

  • jalapeño pepper – Use fresh jalapenos for this recipe
  • Cream Cheese
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Flour Tortillas- use the large burrito size tortillas
  • green onions
  • bacon – use crispy bacon pieces, chopped
  • spices – garlic powder, onion powder

  • Medium bowl
  • hand mixer or stand mixer
  • cutting board
  • sharp knife

Substitutions & Variations

  • You can sub Pepper Jack cheese for the Cheddar if you want more of a kick.
  • You can use whole wheat tortillas for a twist.
  • You can sub bacon bits if you don’t have bacon
  • You can sub turkey bacon.

Step 2 – Mix cream cheese with shredded cheeseand green onions and bacon crumbles.

Equipment

  • medium bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 12 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/3 cup cooked crumbled bacon
  • 1/4 cup diced jalapeno
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • 5 large burrito tortillas

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add the bacon, jalapeno, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Mix until well combined.
  • Spread this mixture onto the large tortillas, leaving about an inch around the edge of each tortilla, and roll them up tight.
  • Once all of the tortillas are rolled, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Slice the rolled tortillas into bite size rounds, and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t Overfill: Overfilling the tortillas can make them difficult to roll and may cause them to fall apart when slicing.
Chill Before Slicing: Refrigerating the rolled tortillas for at least 45 minutes will help them firm up, making them easier to slice neatly.
