Today I am sharing some easy ways to simplify your life. A new year is a great time to gain a better perspective on ways to evaluate and change.
Happy New Year Friends! There is something about a new year that gives us a chance to reflect on our lives, our goals and our direction and it also a great time to change our perspective on things we do out of habit. While I do not make resolutions, I do try to set new goals for each year and improve my life in several ways.
I believe that it is important to evolve and continuously find ways to improve your life in the areas of health, productivity, spirituality, financially and growth. All of these things lead to a better life and an improved state of wellness.
This year I am focusing on simplifying things. My productivity experience has helped me evaluate processes and eliminate and streamline when possible. We are all about making the most of your time on this site and this month, we are sharing tips to help you simplify your life and home.
First, it is important to evaluate what kind of things you want to happen in your life so that you can determine where simplification will have the most impact. There are several ways to do this and depending on your personal style, you can do one or several.
Here are several ways to start looking at how to simplify your life:
Set A Few Goals - Think about the areas of your life you want to improve or change in your personal and/or professional life. Goal setting is a powerful process for thinking about your desired future, and for motivating yourself make the vision a reality. Most of us want to improve our finances and stay healthy, but you may want to look at goals in the areas of self-improvement, spiritual, relationship, and exploration.
I have some tips and tools on setting goals and a downloadable template in the resource section below.
Create A Vision Board - Create a physical or online vision board that reflects the things you want out of life. Better health? More money? Better relationships? Creating a visual reminder can have powerful training effects on behavior and actions. Think about the direction you want to change or areas of your life that have been successful and you want to improve.
You can put the vision board in your planner, on your phone or desktop as a background or on an easel on your desk.
You can even start a Pinterest board with your vision if you think that you can refer to it for motivation and inspiration.
Start Thinking Simplicity
Start thinking about things you can do to eliminate or at least decrease distractions. Look at your past and see if you can identify stumbling blocks and time wasters as you go after your goals. Develop a mindset not to overthink things and procrastinate. Once you start developing these habits, simplicity will come easier.

Changing the mindset takes time, but with practice, it will become habitual. One of my personal goals this year is to simplify my life and home. Next week, I will be sharing more tips to simplifying and streamline. If you have not signed up for our weekly newsletter you can sign up here.
