Hello Friends!
Today I am sharing some delicious cupcakes for the holiday season! These are perfect Christmas treats for a holiday dinner or Christmas party. I have some wonderful and simple cupcake recipes from my blogger buddies. Before we get started, I want to share a few tips to make the Best Christmas Cupcakes.
Cupcake Tips
Tools and Equipment Needed
- Large Bowl.
- Spoon
- Measuring cups
- Electric mixer - hand or stand mixer
- cupcake pans or muffin tin
- paper cupcake liners
- wire rack - always cool cupcakes before frosting
- piping bags and piping tips - I recommend this piping set for cupcakes
Cupcakes from Scratch or from a Box
There is no doubt that cupcakes from scratch are delicious. I like to use this homemade cake mix recipe. But more times than not, it is so easy to use a boxed cake mix. So you can decide which works best for you. With a few additions, a boxed cake mix works very well.
Cupcake Frosting Types
There are so many types of frosting for cupcakes: vanilla buttercream, cream cheese frosting, and chocolate frosting are some of my favorites. Always make your frosting from scratch and never use canned frosting. It is very easy to make your own and makes a world of difference in the taste.
Cupcake Sprinkles and Toppers
There are more sprinkles than ever available online. Keep in mind the age of your guests as some of the larger sprinkles may be too large for little ones. Toppers are another fun way to decorate cupcakes and are available at party and Etsy shops. This is a very simple way to decorate a cupcake.
Cupcake Display & Storage
Always store cupcakes in an airtight container. If the cupcakes are frosted, they should be refrigerated. Keep in mind that they really only last a few days in the refrigerator.
If you are going to give cupcakes as a party favor or sell them at a bake sale, you may want to use these plastic cups with lids from Amazon. They are the easiest way to set them up by the door.
