Catalogue Copy Cat Challenge -

Sharing is caring!

This past weekend I worked on a project as part of the magazine copy-cat challenge over at Debbie Doo's. I needed some wall art and I found this cool print in the Crate and Barrel catalogue.  This was my inspiration.

Copy Cat Inspiration

Now, I realize that the piece in the catalog is made from handcrafted paper made from boiled bark, but the $899 price was a bit more than I wanted to pay for my wall art, plus I wanted a smaller version.

I already had a frame that I could use to recreate the art on a smaller level.

So I headed to my local craft store and picked up some scrapbook paper and burlap.

I cut the scrapbook paper in smaller increments to duplicate the effect.

Then I added a piece of burlap and put it under the glass in the frame.

What do you think?

I am sharing this at Debbie Doo's Copy Cat Challenge.

It looks great! What a smart idea. I would never think to do that. I like the way you found inspiration in their catalogue and then just made your own.

I think you did a great job! Looks wonderful...and the smaller size is what I would prefer too.

I LOVE THIS. Such a cheap and easy way to make wall decor because you could really use ANYTHING in that same way.
I was just dropping by since you were so kind as to comment on my blog on Monday when I was the SITS featured blogger. Also, I'm hosting a giveaway on my blog (it ends Tuesday) if you'd like to come back by and check it out that would be excellent!
