How to make Teddy Bear cookies

Save The Recipe!
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Make the Bear Faces: Slice both sugar cookie and chocolate chip cookie dough into ¼-inch thick rounds. Alternate between the two for the bear faces-half will be sugar cookie (white bears) and half chocolate chip (brown bears). Place each round on the baking sheet, leaving space between.
- Add Ears: Use the opposite dough for the ears. For sugar cookie faces, press two small chocolate chip dough circles on top as ears. For chocolate chip faces, use sugar cookie dough for the ears. Gently press them into the top of each round.
- Make the Snout: Form a small ball from the same dough used for the ears and press it into the center of the face for the snout.
- Inner Ears: Add contrast by placing two tiny pieces of the face dough into the center of each ear (sugar dough on chocolate ears, chocolate dough on sugar ears).
- Bake according to the dough package instructions – usually 10–12 minutes – until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool slightly, then press two large chocolate chips into each for the eyes, and one for the nose. Enjoy!

Tips for the Best Results
- Let your cookie dough sit at room temperature for easier shaping and smooth dough forms.
- Use a tablespoon of dough for each face to keep them even.
- Make sure to gently press the small balls for the snout and ears so they stick.
- Add chocolate chips for eyes and nose while cookies are still slightly warm.
- Cool completely on a wire rack or cooling rack before moving to an airtight container.
- If you’d like a more detailed look, use candy eyes or melted chocolate piped with a small tip.
Substitutions and Variations
- Swap in chocolate chip cookies for the sugar cookie dough if you want all brown bears.
- Add colored candy pieces or frosting to create festive versions for holidays.
