This fun 4th of July drink is kid-friendly, festive, and best of all, super simple to put together.

The cool part of this drink comes from how the colors are layered. With a little help from different sugar levels in each drink, you get those clean red, white, and blue stripes without any special equipment.

Substitutions

  • Blue: Use blue raspberry Gatorade or Kool-Aid instead of Blue Hawaiian Punch.
  • White/Clear: Lemonade or white grape juice works if cherry Gatorade isn’t available.
  • Red: Swap red Hawaiian Punch with cranberry juice cocktail or red Gatorade.

Garnish with fresh berries or a paper flag pick for an extra festive touch

How to Make Red White and Blue Slushies

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1: In a blender, combine 2 cups of ice with 1 cup of Blue Hawaiian Punch and pour into container and freeze.

Step 2: In a blender, combine 2 cups of ice with 1 cup of Gatorade and pour into container and freeze.

Step 3: In a blender, combine 2 cups of ice with 1 cup of Red Hawaiian Punch and pour into container and freeze.

Step 4: Prepare the slushies: fill a glass ⅓ full with the blue slushy mixture. Fill another ⅓ of the white slushy mixture and the red mixture.

Timesaving Tips

  • Use crushed ice to help hold the layers better—cubed ice may cause colors to blend.
  • Pour slowly over the back of a spoon to keep layers from mixing when assembling slushies.
  • Chill all liquids beforehand so the ice doesn’t melt too fast.
  • Assemble just before serving for best visual effect.
  • Serve in clear glass or plastic glasses.

Celebrate summer with these festive and fun Red, White, and Blue Slushies made with just a few ingredients! Great for picnics, BBQs and potlucks, these are as fun to make as they are to drink.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups blue Hawaiian punch
  • 2 cups red Hawaiian punch
  • 2 cups cherry glacier or other clear Gatorade
  • 6 cups ice
  • Maraschino cherries

Instructions
 

  • Gather 2 large freezer safe containers
  • In your blender, combine 2 cups of the ice and 1 cup of the blue Hawaiian punch.
  • Blend, until smooth, adding extra blue punch, if needed for a slushy consistency.
  • Pour the blue slushy into one of the containers, and move to the freezer.
  • To the blender, add 2 more cups of ice, and 1 cup of the Gatorade.
  • Blend until smooth, adding additional Gatorade, if needed.
  • Pour the white slushy mixture into one of the containers, and move it to the freezer.
  • Repeat for the red layer using 2 cups of ice and the red Hawaiian punch. Start with 1 cup, blend, and add more if needed.
  • To prepare the slushies, fill a glass 1/3 full with the blue slushy mixture.
  • Fill another 1/3 with the white slushy mixture.
  • Finally, finish with the red slushy mixture.
  • Top with a maraschino cherry, and enjoy!
