Prepare the Pop Rocks Rim

Step 1 – Put the corn syrup on one saucer and pour the blue Pop Rocks onto the other. Dip the rims of the glass into the corn syrup.

Step 2 – Then turn glass upside down on the plate of pop rocks. Let set in the refrigerator 5 – 10 minutes.
Prepare the Cocktail or Mocktail

Step 5 – Add the rum to the shaker filled with ice..

Step 2 – Add the Cream of Coconut and vigorously shake well to combine (about 15-20 seconds).

Step 5 – Retrieve the serving glass from the refrigerator and pour the Malibu mixture into the glass. Pour the shaker contents into glasses.

Step 4 – Drip the grenadine into the center. Just let gravity take over and slowly drip in enough grenadine to cover the bottom 1/4-1/2” of the glass or until desired layer of red is achieved.
Step 5 – Using a bar spoon or teaspoon, SLOWLY and gently pour the Sprite onto the back of the spoon, aiming at the inside edge of the glass. Carefully pour a sprite floater on the cocktail.

Ingredient Notes & Substitutions
- For a mocktail – replace the Rum with lemonade or sparkling water.
- Coconut rum adds a tropical summer flavor that pairs perfectly with the sweet layers.
- For young children, skip the pop rocks and use blue sprinkles for the rim. Prepare glass rims the same way.
- Grenadine naturally sinks to the bottom, helping create distinct layers.
Time Saving Tips
- Chill all ingredients beforehand to help the layers stay separated longer.
- Prepare glasses and Pop Rocks rims ahead of time before guests arrive. Do the same with the cherrie toothpick garnish.
- Use the back of a spoon when pouring each layer to make layering easier.
- Freeze fruit garnishes in advance for a quick finishing touch.
