If you like pigs in a blanket then you’re going to LOVE these Brats in a Blanket! A fun and festive variation, these delicious pastry-rolled bratwursts are perfect for a game day party appetizer or a quick and delicious dinner or lunchtime meal.
These delicious Brats are a terrific party appetizer or a quick meal. They’re a fun and festive variation of the classic pigs in a blanket, but instead of using mini hot dogs or sausages, I used bratwurst sausages.

Just like their petite piggy counterparts, bratwurst sausages are wrapped in crescent dough, topped with Everything seasoning and then baked to golden brown perfection. Simple to make and quick to bake.
They’re made with just a few common ingredients with minimal prep and are the perfect crowd-pleaser for tailgating, March Madness, or any party or gathering. You can also serve them with mashed or roasted potatoes for an easy and delicious dinner everyone will love.

- Delicious – This is a fun twist on the traditional appetizer everyone, and I mean everyone, loves. These beautiful brats are always a crowd pleaser.

Time Saving Tips & Tricks
- Allow any warm ingredients to cool before using so they don’t degrade the texture of the dough before rolling.
- If you don’t have pre-caramelized onions, sauté sliced onions in butter over medium heat for 15-20 minutes until golden and soft. Let cool a bit before topping the pastry dough.
- You could pre-cook the bratwurst slightly, depending on the recipe, to ensure they’re cooked through.
- Bake on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to save time cleaning up.
- Store leftover ingredients separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator.
How to Serve Brats in a Blanket
Serve these warm and fresh from the oven with ketchup or mustard. I like a spicy, whole grain brown mustard with them, but you can use your favorite kind.
The wrapped brats also make a delicious dinner option served with German cucumber salad, and some mac and cheese.
How to Store
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. For best results, store individual ingredients separately.
How to Reheat Leftover Brat Blankets
Reheat leftover wrapped bratwurst in the oven or the microwave.
In the Oven – reheat in a preheated oven on a baking sheet for 10-15 minutes. I like to cover them with foil so the pastry doesn’t dry out or overcook when reheating.
In the Microwave – Place on a microwave safe plate and heat on high for about 2 minutes until heated through. Depending on the wattage of your microwave, it might take as little longer.
