Storage
Store taco cups in the refrigerator in an airtight container or top each cup with plastic wrap.
Timesaving and Helpful Tips
- Use clear plastic cups so that you can see all the layers.
- Prep ingredients ahead of time (like shredding cheese or chopping tomatoes) and assemble just before serving to keep everything fresh.
- Layering order You want the heaviest layers (like refried beans or guacamole) at the bottom, and lighter toppings (like cheese and olives) on top.
- Want to save even more time? Use store-bought guacamole and salsa to cut down on prep without sacrificing flavor.
Recipe FAQs
Yes, you can prep and assemble the cups up to a few hours before serving. Just cover them tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Add ingredients like tomatoes, olives, and cilantro right before serving.
Secure a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole before refrigerating. You can also lightly brush it with a little lime juice to slow browning.
I like to use Clear 9-ounce plastic cups, like these.
