Easy Nutella Pizza Dessert Recipe

Nutella pizza is the dessert you make when you want something that looks impressive but takes almost no effort. You press store-bought cookie dough into a pan, bake it, and spread on a thick layer of Nutella. That’s it!
With fresh strawberry slices and whipped cream on top, it looks so festive and beautiful like it came from a fancy bakery.

If you need a dessert that comes together fast, Nutella pizza is it. Four ingredients and just press, bake, spread, and top. It is so tasty too! I first saw these “pizzas” or Nutella Tarts, in France.

I was amazed at how easy it was and had to try making it at home. It worked and people cannot believe hot easy it is to make when I give them the recipe.

This easy dessert is great for parties, showers, or just a weekend treat at home. It slices just like a real pizza, which makes it extra fun to serve. If you love easy Nutella desserts, my Nutella Croissants and My Nutella Sugar cookies also use that same rich chocolate-hazelnut flavor but in a totally different way.
Recipe Highlights
What You’ll Need
You only need a handful of ingredients for this one, and most of them are probably already in your kitchen.

- Sugar cookie dough – You don’t need homemade dough to get a great result.
- Nutella – This is the star of the show. If your Nutella feels stiff, pop it in the microwave for about 10 seconds before spreading.
- Strawberries – Fresh strawberries add a little brightness and balance out the richness of the Nutella. Slice them thin so they lay flat on top.
- Whipped cream – You can skip it, but it makes the pizza look extra pretty when you’re serving it.
How to Make Nutella Pizza
Step 1: Prep your pan and preheat the oven. Heat your oven to 350°F. Press and bake the crust. Press the sugar cookie dough evenly into the bottom of the pan. You want it spread all the way to the edges in a flat, even layer. Bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown. Then let it cool completely on the pan.

Step 2: Spread the Nutella. Once the crust is fully cooled, spread an even layer of Nutella over the top. Leave about a half-inch border around the edge, just like a real pizza.

Step 3: Add the strawberries and serve. Lay the strawberry slices over the Nutella layer. Add a swirls of whipped cream. Sslice and serve.

Time Saving Tips
- Cool the crust all the way. This is the most important step. If the crust is even a little warm, the Nutella will melt and slide right off. Give it at least 30 minutes on the counter before you spread anything on top.
- Dry your strawberries first. After slicing, lay the strawberries on a paper towel for a few minutes. Extra moisture can make the top of the pizza soggy, and we don’t want that.
- Warm the Nutella if needed. If the Nutella is straight from the pantry and feels thick, microwave it for 10 seconds. It spreads so much easier when it’s slightly warm.
- Slice with a sharp knife or pizza cutter. A clean cut makes each slice look much nicer when you’re serving.
Fun Ways to Switch It Up
This recipe is easy to customize based on what you have on hand or what flavors your crowd loves.
- Swap strawberries for sliced bananas, raspberries, or a mix of both
- Drizzle melted white or dark chocolate on top for an extra layer of flavor
- Add a sprinkle of crushed hazelnuts or sea salt on top of the Nutella
- Use a chocolate chip cookie dough roll instead of sugar cookie dough
FAQs
Can I make this ahead of time? You can bake the crust a day ahead and store it at room temperature. Add the Nutella and strawberries right before you’re ready to serve so everything stays fresh.
Can I use homemade sugar cookie dough? Yes! If you have a favorite sugar cookie recipe, press about 1.5 to 2 pounds of dough into the pan. Just keep an eye on the bake time since homemade dough can vary.
How many servings does this make? It depends on how you slice it, but you can get about 8 to 10 slices from a 12-inch pizza.
Can I add other toppings? Absolutely. This recipe is really flexible. Blueberries, kiwi, and sliced peaches all work great. Just dry your fruit on a paper towel before adding it to the pizza.
What if I don’t have a pizza pan? A large round cake pan or a rimmed baking sheet works too. The shape might be a little different but the taste is the same.
Storing Leftovers
Store any leftover slices in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. The strawberries will start to release moisture after a day, so this one is best eaten fresh. I don’t recommend freezing it once the toppings are on.
If you want to get ahead, bake and cool the crust, then wrap it tightly and store it at room temperature for up to 1 day before adding the toppings.

Ingredients
- 1 16.5-ounce roll sugar cookie dough
- 1 cup Nutella
- 5-6 whole strawberries sliced

Instructions

Notes
Allow the cookie crust to cool completely before spreading the Nutella on top. If the crust is warm, the Nutella will melt and slide off.
Microwave the Nutella for 10 seconds before spreading if it seems too stiff.
Let the strawberry slices dry on a paper towel before placing them on the pizza. This will remove excess moisture.
