I just love crafting this time of year. Well, I love it all year, but there is just something about crafting for the holidays that makes me so happy. I want my decorations ready because the day after Thanksgiving, I am ready to change-up the decor.

I do not know why I get so impatient, but once the holiday is over I am ready to move on to the next season. I have been playing with some more items for the dollar store because that is just my holiday jam.

I truly believe that you do not have to spend a lot of money for fun and festive decor. I cannot believe the cost of some of the items in the catalogs I am receiving this year.

So as I mentioned the other day, I found some great styrofoam craft supplies at the dollar store. All the balls made me think of snow and snowmen!

First you need to slice off a portion of the styrofoam ball so that one end it flat. This will be the body.

Then you attach the base to the second sphere (for the head)  with a toothpick. For the eyes, I used some beads and for the mouth and body I used buttons. We glued then on by holding them into place with toothpicks until the glue dries.

For the hat, I took an empty take out condiment container and glued it to cardstock.

Then covered it with glue and then glitter. I attached the hat with a toothpick too! But you can also use a glue gun to attach.

Before you know it, you have a cute snowman, or two. This is fun craft for kids that can handle toothpicks.

That's a great holiday craft for my kids. So thank you! It reminds me of the great crafts my mom does with her students - adults AND kids.
