Dollar Store Christmas Crafts

Sharing is caring!

So are you ready for the holidays? Because they are here! While I am busy this week preparing for Thanksgiving and enjoying all things Fall, I have also recently started to do some crafting for Christmas. I do not want to wait until after Thanksgiving to start, so I am sharing some of my crafts with you all a little early.

As you know if you have been around here for a while, my mom and I like to craft together on the weekends. In preparation for this year's Dollar Store Christmas Crafts series, I picked up some items from the dollar store.

Dollar Store Supplies

The dollar store is a great place for craft supplies!

I had not noticed in prior years all the Styrofoam that is available there and was pleased to see so many options. I also picked up this cute vase.

Wait to you see what I did with this dollar store vase.

And a few ornaments, like this one.

So we will start with the styrofoam. With just a little glitter paint, I painted the cone.

And while I had the gold paint out, I painted the vase too! I did not worry about being neat because I wanted it to have a rustic and whimsical look.

I also painted the rim.

While the vase paint was drying, I attached the ornament to the painted cone styrofoam with some wire and then attached the ball with a toothpick.

Decorating for Christmas with dollar store items

I painted the ball for the head and used some markers for the face.

Then I added some lace to cover the wires and added a pipe cleaner for a halo and voila - dollar store angel!

She came out so cute that she made me smile.

Oh and the vase? I added some dollar store gold flowers.

This was only $2 and made with dollar store supplies!

These are going to look so nice on my buffet this Christmas!

What a pretty way to dress up the vase, and the angel is adorable!

That angel is so awesome! My mom used to have us make styrofoam angels when we were kids. They didn't look nearly as good as yours, though!

Hi, I'm Raquel! I am a self-proclaimed foodie and have enjoyed cooking and baking since I was little. I loved baking cookies with my mother and grandma as a child, and later making dinners for my parents to foster my passion while in high school. I also had a passion for organizing and keeping things tidy.
