Beau Monde Dip

Today’s recipe is one that I remember my mom making back when I was a child. This easy Beau Monde dip was one that she served at all the parties and get-togethers my parents used to have. I really did no know what Beau Monde was until later and if you are wondering
What is Beau Monde?
Beau Monde is a spice blend that was made by the Spice Islands spice company. While you can read the ingredients – garlic, clove, bay leaf, nutmeg, and allspice, I have to say that I think it is a wonderful, delicious flavor combination.

I am enjoying the gatherings that allow me to connect with friends and family at this time of year. I hope that you are enjoying your celebrations. I want to share with you an oldie but goodie party dip recipe that is great for a game day, party appetizer or shower dish.
If you have never used Beau Monde, I encourage you to try it. I have a link below. This dill dip is great with chips and vegetables.

I loved it the first time I tried it because the dill flavor is wonderful! This dip is great with potato chips, pita chips, vegetables and even bread!
I love that this dip is a nice alternative to onion dips and it is kind of addicting, so you have been warned. I first posted this recipe back during the first year of the blog, but I have updated the photos. Thankfully, my photography has improved since I first started this blog.

I love this versatile dip!

I love that this recipe incorporates the lovely flavors of onion, dill weed, and other spices.

Woah! This looks lovely. And so festive. What IS beau monde? Do you have a photo of the bottle? You have a beautiful blog here!
Thanks you I am going to post a photo for you. Thanks for stopping by!
I have a very similar recipe I got years ago from Wegmans. This recipe is also delicious with cubed pumpernickel or rye bread!
Never heard of this beau monde either! Can I get it at any supermarket here in SoCal? My favorite dip is the dill one my dad always makes, I’m not sure what’s in it except dill and deliciousness!

Okay, I am not a good cook at all, but this looks like something I could actually do and be able to say “I brought something homemade!” SCORE!! I don’t know what Beau Monde tastes like, but if it goes with chips and veggies, I’m in!
It is really good Ashley! I think you will enjoy it! Hope you have a good weekend.
{Melinda} Love dip! I’ve never heard of Beau Monde. But then again, I’m not an amazing cook like my blogging partner, Kathy. 🙂 This actually looks like something I wouldn’t be able to mess up!

Never heard of Beau Monde! Excited to try something new. Thanks for posting.
My mom has been making this for years. I have never seen a recipe for it or heard of anyone else making it until I saw this. The only difference is she uses real diced onion. We always eat it with cucumbers. It is yummy!!
Oh I like that she uses fresh onions Kim! Yes it really is great with veggies, chips & crackers. Thanks for sharing!
That dip looks so good!
Thank you!
Thanks Ashley!
I hear that – I look at photography I did only a few months ago and shudder. It’s nice to grow!
I totally didn’t know what Beau Monde was! I asked Cassidy as a trivia question and he didn’t know but I’m glad you told us. I think it’s a win!
It used to be really popular – ask you mom next time you see her. 🙂
I love this recipe! I’ve also used it to make red potato salad. It’s just this dip baby red potatoes(boiled), finely chopped celery and red onion. Always a hit!
Thank you so much Amber – glad you liked it!
I made this recipe back in the early 60’s.It was from either “Easy but Elegant” or “Come for cocktails, stay for supper”. The authors were Marian Burros and Lois Levine. Those books were our Bibles, in terms of cooking. I am still making some of the recipes.
I think the Beau Monde dip had a different amount of sour cream and mayonaide, but otherwise the same amounts of seasoning. Thanks for posting it.
I bought the Beau Monde seasoning specifically to try this recipe. The onion and parsley flakes sound of the dried variety. Is the dill dried as well or is it fresh? Can’t wait to try this dip considering the taste of the Beau Monde by itself is amazing!
I use all dried ingredients because it is what keeps better. You could definitely use fresh too.
This is an early 70s classic and for good reason. It’s always delicious and anyone can look like a great cook when you make this. I love that it alive and well on the internet so it can live another 50 years!!
